This Spanish phrase, “To remember is to live again,” is the theme of the 2025-2026 Hispanic Culture Review, George Mason University’s only bilingual literary journal. I have relived many fond moments of my time living in Galveston, Texas for four years. One of those moments is strolling past beachgoers and people fishing along the beach on the east end of the island that faces the Houston Ship Channel. Often, there was a parked food truck selling food and cold drinks labeled in a mix of Spanish and English.
This black-and-white photo of a Mexican food truck in Galveston was published in a two-page spread (p22-23) and won 2nd place in the Visual Arts category.
